In a perfect world, 360’s and 180’s are used purely for Developmental purposes. You are able to select your raters and your results are only for you to see. The only reason you would share your data with someone else would be to receive help from them for your Development.
Some organizations use 360’s and 180’s for employee assessment, tying in your feedback with your overall performance in an organization. We will not argue whether this works for organizations or not, we simply do not believe it is effective as a performance measurement tool, and can possibly have dire consequences.
